If you are a qualified accountant and a member of a professional accounting body outside Canada, you may be eligible to earn your Canadian dual credentials by completing 2-day Strategic Final Examination unless a Mutual Recognition Agreement has been signed with the PAO.

If you are an internationally educated professional and not a member of a professional accounting body outside Canada but have attended a post-secondly institution outside Canada, you may be eligible to earn your Canadian dual credentials based on your extensive experience coupled with other academic and professional qualifications that are recognized under the CTP-CPFA Canada’s competency based assessment admission route.

Chartered Professional designation is awarded by CTP-CPFA Canada to fully qualified accountants only. To obtain the CTP, CPFA dual professional designation students must have a university degree and go through an extensive training and examination process.

You can get CTP, CPFA dual professional designation and be eligible to work either as a Chartered Tax Professional or as a Chartered Certified Practising Accountant in Canada quickly if you have already obtained a university degree with a qualified professional accounting designation from abroad, all you need is to take professional level of tax and business law courses for direct admission into the CTP-CPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification (PQ program). You may consider completing equivalent coursework at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Simon Fraser University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), at another recognized post-secondary institution in Canada, or through the CTP-CPFA Canada preparatory courses.
